Leavenworth County Humane Society

Shelter

Working with J.E. Dunn and Treanor Architects, we’ve planned a shelter to serve Leavenworth County for now and for the future.  There will be space for cats, dogs and small mammals.  We’ll have play yards, get acquainted spaces, and space for our volunteers.  We’ll have actual offices out of which to do our business.  AND we’ll have a community room where we can do training, events, day camp for children, meetings, and even parties.

Thanks to Jeremy and Daniel Greenamyre (Lansing Business Center, LLC), and a special memorial donation, we secured about 4 acres of vacant ground in the Lansing Business Center.  The Conditional Use Permit that will allow us to build and operate the shelter there was approved in August 2015.

As of Fall 2015, we’re working to craft the capital campaign that will enable us to raise the $ to build and open the shelter.
